Having healed from and overcome early childhood molestation, a severe stutter, post-traumatic stress disorder, Standardized American Selective Retardation™, peer pressure, bullying, educational tracking, mass media criminalization, traumas, wrongful termination, blackballing, due process of law, and collusion, similar to thousands if not millions of males, I am The Blue-Collar Scholar, & The Undaunted Black Male®, a published platformed author; high-profile public speaker; post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and persons with perceived disabilities advocate; Distinguished Alumni with a classroom dedicated to and named after me and my mother; and multi-state urban planner with twenty (20) years’ experience, currently between Maryland and Connecticut, and born in New Haven, CT in 1963.

 

I continue to pay it forward today with advocacy because I remember being confused with having autism. Why? Stuttering and autism have overlapping communication challenges such as pauses, speech anxiety and repetitions and stutterers and autistic people experience physical tension in the face. Not angry, frustrated, violent, nor emotional, this is why my story matters.
